LOVE is a four-legged word

I was inspired to write this post, well, because I have been seeing a lot of pictures on Facebook, of animals looking for homes.  I normally try not to let myself look at these photos, but here lately it seems that they are all over my newsfeed.  (Don't want that to come off as insensitive...but frankly with a dog, four cats, and a new baby, we just don't have the room, or time, that another dog would require.  So I dont even let myself consider it...)

Most of you know, I have a major soft spot in my heart for Labs.  Our Tucker has been a great dog, and I think he has turned us into true  "Lab People"...meaning, we will probably always get a lab or lab mix from here on out :) I have seen several pictures of labs in shelters, that look like they would make a great friend.  It really gets me wondering, what is their story?  Why are they there?
I've always said, if I could have one "super power" it would definitely be.....the ability to talk to animals, and understand them.  How cool would that be!?  If that were the case, I definitely would have went to vet school...LOL

So I guess I at least want to share the information, of some local shelters and organizations that have animals looking for their forever homes.  It is an incredible thing to be able to give an animal a second chance. Click on the folowing links, to be directed to their websites.

I know there are a lot of people out there that care for animals, and would like to help them.  There are many ways you can help.  Whether it be adopting, volunteering, or even just sharing the information of an animal in need.  I think the name of this post says it all...LOVE is a four-legged word!!  There are animals out there with so much love to give, and they are just looking for someone to share that love with.

I got this picture from the Facebook Page of  A Dog's Purpose, a novel by W. Bruce Cameron.
I read this book a year or so ago, and it truely opens your eyes, to the life and mind of a dog.  This book made me laugh, made me cry, made me smile...it was truly a very touching book. I highly recommend it.
There is now a second book out, which I have yet to read.  But I plan to read it, in the near future.  When I do, I will be sure to post my thoughts :)

Bye, for now!

  1. I have been seeing a lot of pics too and I'm like you, I can't look at them or they will definitely end up at home with us. And I love that little quote - it's so true.
